Punk making a comeback, and in a very good way. They've added a heaviness and distortion element which enhances the effect. Standout "Broken Hands" leading the way to grunge. More edgy and interesting sonically than Pearl Jam, speaking of grunge.

Garbage or Garage rock, who cares. I think that the music of the early nineties lacks finesse or originality. Sheer anger or power do not warrant or make good songs. Some songwriting and catchiness is also needed. The guitar and drum sound comes from the same settings as every band used since someone invented distortion. I bet that Stooges made this better 20 years earlier (1970). I do not actively hate this but in this current state of mind this makes me feel dumb.

Mudhoney somehow gets overlooked when people give credit to 80s alt-rock pioneers. These guys are a tiny step behind the Pixies. This and Superfuzz are their best.
