This is what really good synthpop sounds like. I hesitate a little to necessarily call it “synthpop”, but that’s the best I can come up with. The Notwist is a little more electronic than it is pop, but it’s a beautiful blend. The songs are interesting and even catchy at times. The album keeps you listening, it keeps you interested, rarely is there a moment when you’re not really paying attention to the album. The whole time I was listening to it, I kept enjoying track after track, saying to myself “Wow, is this album really this good?” It is. There are maybe one or two tracks that aren’t amazing, but generally, this album is really really good, absolutely worth listening to.

Highlights include: “Kong”, “Run Run Run” and “From One Wrong Place To The Next”. [First added to this chart: 01/11/2014]

Genuinely pleased to see After the Disco getting some love on your chart, as I thought it was the best album of 2014. I've really come to appreciate what a great producer Danger Mouse is, as he's able to adapt his approach in a chameleon-like way to draw out the talents of the artists he works with. Overall a really enjoyable chart to puruse and sample from!

And I thought that except for the War on Drugs 2014 was a mediocre year. When I read your comments it wants me to check at least some of the albums you're very positieve of.
