Wow what a fantastic year for good rock music. I know that this year was still dominated by hiphop and R&B like female solo artists but I discovered so much good music that I cannot do anything than call this a vintage year for rock 'n roll where the return of melody has found a new breath.
The top 40 of this list can in my view be regarded as classics or classics to be and the good thing is that not even everything is just rock/indie: there's jazz with Kamasi Washington and lots of fairly experimental stuff.
