AllSparks

I am a Sparks fan. You will have guessed if you saw my Top 100. The only band that I liked so much, I put a poster on the wall when I was young. (Unless I count Juliette Greco. But she did not get the honor because of her music.) Bought their records, went to see them live when they were in town. Travelled to London for the "Sparks Spectacular". Just bought a ticket to Edinburgh in September where they will introduce their new album. So, this is the list that comes out of my collection. Studio Albums first. Then Live, then the compilations.

Pineapple I like best. Hm. Or maybe Tits. Happy Hunting Ground? Looks, looks looks? Well, how would it be possible not to like Miss The Start, Miss The End best (Cause there are such very good friends.) Incredible lyrics: "And there are things to be loved and things to only attend." Seriously, the best would be It Ain’t 1918. Or Without Using Hands? Under the Table with Her is funny. And surely so is How are you getting home. We have one thing in common. We are too good to be at this party. Not to forget: Get in the Swing. I will make up my mind ... In the Future. [First added to this chart: 04/15/2017]

The most popular. Not only around here. It does contain their no. 2 hit This Town. Amateur Hour. When I first listened to it the one that made the greatest impression was Equator. And in this case it is easy: This is the best one here. [First added to this chart: 04/15/2017]

The title track is only a couple of seconds long. Might make rights though you are wrong you are right, to fight her propaganda. Here I have to decide between Something for the Girl With Everything and Never Turn Your Back on Mother Earth. Okay, it is Mother Earth. [First added to this chart: 04/15/2017]

Girl From Germany. Do-Re-Me is the only good cover they made. And it is brillant. (I despise their I Want To Hold Your Hand). Listen to Batteries Not Included. One of the saddest tales ever told. [First added to this chart: 04/15/2017]

Metaphor. Catchy tune. And sensational lyrics. This belongs into every Philosopher’s class:
A metaphor is a glorious thing
A diamond ring
The first day of summer
A metaphor is a breath of fresh air
A turn-on
An aphrodisiac

Those mysteries. Again this gets first place due to lyrics. Tongue in cheek:
Why is there time?
Why is there space?
Why are there dogs and cats and trees and the human race?
And why am I here and not over there?
Oh why, oh why?

Ah yes. Why indeed? And a Beach Boys like song that the Beach Boys would have been proud to do: Over the Summer. This is the first one of their oeuvre that contains a song that I do not really like: Big Surprise.
