The return of Disco was 2020's most interesting trend. Although Dua Lipa and Róisín Murphy made admirably efforts, Jessie Ware is the queen of the night. What's your pleasure coveys event moment of the night of your life. "Spotlight" is an enchanted encounter, "What your pleasure" is smooth seduction, "The Kill" is anxiety as the night comes to an end. Ware's voice is full and mature, nailing every note and feeling it tries. The choruses are catchy and memorable with Gems like "Push, press, more, less Here together, what's your pleasure? Stop, go, fast, slow Here together, what's your pleasure?". I love how the instrumentals explore the different sounds of the genre. "Soul Control' has the push and pull of prime Janet Jackson song , "Remember Where You Are" has feeling of a chamber pop classic. I could gush forever. This is my pleasure.

Every once in a while an album will come around and introduce a genre to you that you didn't know you loved. "Un Canto Por México, Vol. 1" is that for Mexican folk. On every track, Natalia Lafourcade sings with a passion that makes me feel like I've known these songs my entire life. Every guest vocal adds a new spot of personality to fall in love with. The horns and guitars are catchy and joyful whether slow or fast. Even before I finished the first listen, I was singing along. Bravo!

Drum and Bass is normally a very manic genre. Sewerslvt decided why not make it sad. Hard Drums will keep at you like negative thoughts. The washed out distortion makes the sound feel spacey and lonely. Samples from Moral Orel will make you feel like there is nothing you can do to overcome. The rhythm will stop for a second and you will reflect on the melancholy. This album makes me miserable and I love it.

Mestarin Kynsi understands how fundamentally important it is to craft an atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, I love a commanding riff but a lot of extreme metal has no patience. Mestarin Kynsi will take it's time luring you in with chirping synths and sloggy basslines before the guitars come down on you like a collapsing building. This makes their impact so much stronger. The other value it uses is creativity. I did not know how powerful a pan flute could sound until I heard "Uusi teknokratia". These unorthodox instrumentals keep the listener active and begging for more.

Song Machine feels like a callback to Gorillaz first album. Both albums have the same sort of plucky energy that makes them fun to listen to. First off, this album has arguably the best guest usage of their career. Each friend gets a song where their strengths can shine. Beck got his groovy tongue in cheek track, Robert smith gets to belt a chorus over a frantic warning, the list goes on. The instrumentals continue the tradition of mixing genres expertly. The changes between tracks feel akin to going through an old beloved mixtape. For me, the crowning moment of this album is "The Lost Chord". Albarn's and Leee John's vocals mix perfectly. The lyrics sell the longing for something that you don't quiet understand. This album has made me excited for the Gorillaz again and that alone earns its spot.
