I'm falling more and more in love with this album! I feel like it takes the best of Future Nostalgia and Honey, but Jessie's vocal performance is more gripping and seductive than both Dua's and Robyn's. Amazing production - Jessie just shows amazing taste and her experience has taught her how to arrange and choose sounds, when to hurry up a song and when to just luxuriate in one. There's really not a miss on there for me. Even the songs that didn't do it for me at first are now growing fast. Wonderful house/disco pop album and my AOTY so far.

If the phrase "Disco died" is true then this must be disco heaven. Jessie's vocals are so sultry and smooth. Every song is hit with such passion vocally. The instrumentals are as dynamic as a disco's greatest hits collection from 1982. The one criticism i have is the album gets a little slow in the middle but it quickly returns to form.

No album in 2020 fucks quite as hard as this decadent, glossy, sensual collection of songs. While there's a bit of homogeny in the sound of each track, even the weakest ones are so divinely produced and written, with grooves and atmosphere for days.

Welcome to the Saturday night of your dreams - you catch Jessie's eyes as she brushes past you going into the doorway of some hidden nightclub. You know that beyond that door lies dancefloor heaven, and a soundtrack that reworks the sound of early 80s dance - the tail end of Disco, the peak of Boogie, the foundations of contemporary RnB - in glorious fashion.

Here, however, the glitz and gold of those influences is turned down, yet the opulence is retained. Ware commands such a presence on every cut without giving it all away, always holding her position as a mysterious, glamorous disco goddess. This is opulent, euphoric, dancefloor heaven.

And by god, Soul Control leaves you comprehending how anything good could be legal.

This is a funking good album you feel meee? This has been the most groovy listen I’ve had in a long time. The hooks are catchy and the beats slap you back into the 70s. I was waiting for a track to hit me and stand out from the rest and the closing track did not disappoint.
