"Un Canto Por México, Vol. 1" is a powerhouse of everything Mexican folk has to offer. Natalia Lafourcade's voice is rich and sweet, she uses it to full capacity on every track. The backing vocals and instrumentals are dripping with energy. In particular, the horns are pleasure on each song. "Un Derecho De Nacimiento" is the standout track with Panteón Rococó's passionate vocals. My only major criticisms are the album only has one real style(a fantastic one however) and the album should have ended with "Mi Tierra Veracruzana".

Great stuff from extremely gifted musicians. I don't have much experience with latin folk music and my spanish isn't that great but I still thoroughly enjoy this album. Natalia's voice is amazing and most of the other singers work perfectly with her.
Her voice is just so sweet. The instrumentation is full of energy.
