Fanservice
With both cover art & title a clear homage to my beloved Misfits' Earth A.D., I should have known I was in for a good time. Sepultura have a knack for keeping up with the times, and Chaos AD is no different. This time, chefs Calavera dip their hearty, sinewy Thrash in a Groove Metal (see Pantera) and Alt Metal ( hear Tool) broth while liberally sprinkling some Cali Skater Punk furikake seasoning on top. And it's.... yom yum delicious. Don't forget the Zeppelin fanservice on "Kaiowas" either. It's like discovering they added an egg roll to your order by mistake.
And yes, the album is ridiculously front-loaded, but that’s fanservice too, right? Razz
