Best meat puppets albums (in my opinion)
I’ve been listening to the meat puppets for a while now, since I was a young boy, over a decade now. They’re one of my favorite bands.

1984. Great trippy cow punk. I heard they were on Ecstacy when they recorded this one. They were really onto something at this time period.

1986. Probably most similar to II, but still very different in most aspects. They really went for it here, putting a lot of effort into these songs, even though it’s a short one it has some of my favorite songs by these guys.

2007. Refreshing new sound where Cris finally rejoined and new drummer Ted joined the Kirkwoods. Some great songs and a lot of tracks.

2000. Amazing trippy alternative album, with new drummer Shandon. I used to put this one on when I would go to bed as a young boy, it would trip me out as a young child, I always really enjoyed this one.

1985. Follow up album to II, has a great sound, a lot of really great ideas were captured on here.

1994. Their “breakthrough” album, definitely their most commercial sound yet. Has a lot of great tunes.

2019. Their newest album to date released in March, drummer Derrick’s first appearance in the band since 1995. Curt’s son Elmo officially joining the band and Cris back with some strong bass. Also the addition of Ron on keyboards adding a new dynamic to their music.

Second release of 1987. Classic rock vibe on this one. Very different and refreshing from their other albums, but then again most of their albums sound completely different from one another while still being able to tell it’s the meat puppets.

1991. I believe this was the second album I heard by the band. Great songs and great creativity on this one. Very technical time for these guys, for a while it seemed like they were just getting better and better on their instruments.

2009. Second album after the band got back together with Cris and Ted. Has some good tracks with a soothing and pleasant sound.
