This is the last of the three Venus 3 albums (the Venus 3 were Peter Buck, Scott McCaughey, and Bill Rieflin). It's probably the least poppy, snappy, and "fun" of the three, and there's also no single like "Up To Our Nex" (from Goodnight Oslo) or "'Cause It's Love" (from Olé Tarantula), but to be fair, if you assume that the albums were recorded the year before they were released then this would have been recorded in 2009, and 2009 was a much more depressing year than 2005 and 2008. So hey, give the guys a break.

To my ears, this is easily the best of Crowded House's four studio albums since their return in 2007 (with "Time on Earth"). But CH has always maintained high quality standards, so it's not like the other three are terrible or anything like that. They've probably got a whole big "Quality Assurance Department" that takes care of things if they ever threaten to release substandard product.

Well, technically speaking, it does sort of mean that... but they came back in 2013 with a third album, so I guess it all turned out okay.

This album features my favorite Blonde Redhead song ever, "Everything is Wrong." It's ironic, since everything else about the album is wrong except for that one song.

It's an okay album, but don't buy it thinking it will actually teach you how to destroy angels. Instead you should take a specialized certification-level course at an accredited angel-destruction training facility, like everyone else. Remember, angels can be extremely dangerous, especially when directly confronted!
