Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 88.6/100, a mean average of 87.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.7/100. The standard deviation for this track is 13.1.

Whilst I do think that the song has an emotional impact in its own right, I find the sparse production to be antithetical to the rest of In rainbows in a slightly jarring way. The live version of the song I personally find far superior due to the expanded range of dynamics, emphasized by Ed O'briens shoegazey guitar, once the song crescendos. The in the basement version of the song is more reminiscent of a song such as 'Daydreaming' whilst this album version of the song I find to be too low key. I would personally say that whilst this is a good song, the aesthetic difference as well as (what i perceive to be) an emotional linearity to the song that contrasts with many other Radiohead songs, lead to this being what I would consider the only blemish on an otherwise immaculate album. Still a good song but I do not find it to have very much impact as an album closer.

so sad yet so beautiful. simple instrumentation but very intimate track. a good way to finish the album.

Can't see the love for this one at all... Sorry, I love Radiohead but this song is just kinda bland and boring. The drums do nothing for me, the piano melody is nice but dragged on... Nothing else to say really.

Absolutely one of the best songs of all time for me. This is melancholic yet it manages to deliver a haunting atmosphere, with the bewitching and dark vocal. The drums add a sick feeling on top of that, which works perfectly and bespeaks for the alternative rock genre.

Whoever knew that moody Radiohead could be some of the most eye opening and enlightening Radiohead?

You need to hear the Bonnaroo version of this track fro 2006. It's incredible.

Just like with Faust Arp, I disagree that this is one of the worst on the album. I think it's one of the best. The part where the drums come in is absolutely perfect.
