Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 87.4/100, a mean average of 86.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 87.9/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.9.

A great opener to the greatest album ever created! (Edited)
What a stunning introduction to a quite magnificent record. (Edited)
What a perfect, bombastic introduction to this beast of a concept album. The transition from the creepy piano intro into the loud, streaming brightness of the first verse is magnificent ("And the lamb... lies down.... on Broadway!"), and the lyrical imagery throughout the entirety of the song is so well-done. It gives us an introduction to our protagonist, Rael, in perfect fashion. I couldn't think of a better way to set the scene for this record.
This song, from opening, building piano and crashing drums through the initial chorus, establishes the sound, mood and storyline gabriel intends to tell. It's an everyman tale in a magical world, as our hero "out on the subway, rael imperial aerosol kid, exits into daylight, spraygun hid". i love gabriel's howl of identity "i am RAEL". He loses his brother in this song.
