Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 87.2/100, a mean average of 86.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.5/100. The standard deviation for this track is 15.8.

Weirdly, Coldplay can make a progressive rock song and it is a pretty good one.

Definitely some Pink Floyd influence here, I see a bit of "Comfortably Numb" in the first half and a lot of "Mother", specially the guitar solo in the second half.

Shocked at this track. It has no reason to be this tightly composed and well-paced, written and performed. Whilst the rest of the album is in one ear and out the other this track will stand the test of time and go down as one of Coldplay's strongest. The repeated motif that occurs throughout the song is simply poignant and beautiful: "and in this crazy world, I do." just wow.

It’s stupid how good this is compared to the rest of the album. It’s already a perfect execution of a cool idea on its own, but on an album filled with otherwise forgettable songs, this coming in at the very end is such a whiplash.

I know everyone is saying this, and it's because it's true. Coloratura is one of the best songs they've done in a very long time. It's unique, very well executed at that, beautiful atmosphere, a wonderful 10 minutes that's worth it all. Sadly it's on a very boring album with hardly any merit besides this song.

I LOVE the prog rock sound this track has. Reminds me of something off of DSOTM.

If you told me a year ago that Coldplay would make a ten minute prog song, I would have called you insane.

Possibly Coldplay's best song, wish the rest of the album sounded like this

I never thought Coldplay would've made a song this good in 2021
