That clarinet solo is so great
Hodgson often employs double entendres in his lyrics, and in perhaps in no song is he more on top of his game than this one. On the surface, it sounds like a middle-aged man taking the long way home in an attempt to delay having to arrive home to an unapproving wife. The larger theme I take though is in regard to life in general....
