Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 90.9/100, a mean average of 89.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 91.1/100. The standard deviation for this track is 13.6.

This version feels so raw, and the guitars are phenomenal. Then, when he starts speaking the poem and the audience is slowly left speechless, I get chills.

A seamless ending to the narrative. The live version fits perfectly within the album. Just another example of the genius of Kendrick Lamar.

I live both the single version and the album version, and I especially love that they both exist. A different version of "i" for every mood.

This version of this song works brilliantly BECAUSE the studio version became so famous and loved. The differences between the two became stark and the fact that everyone knew this song already, the poem at the end underlines his message of self love. If this was the first time ever you listened to this song, it will hit you less hard than if you've heard the single before.

Again like "The Blacker the Berry" where the song gets soooo much better in the album context.

totally agreed, the transition into the isley beat and the "I LOVE MYSELF!" chant is probably the best thing on the whole album.

the album version is 100% better than the single, and serves as a perfect uplifting moment after such a dark album. easily my favorite song on the whole record
