Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 1% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 88.0/100, a mean average of 85.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.5/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 19.8.

In my opinion his last album was mid but tpab or gkmc was one of the greatest of hip hop history. The way he creates lyrics is incredible but in my opinion he has some overrated songs and his beats on some tracks are also mid but i love listening to his music anyway.
greatest rapper of all time, top 10 artists of all time
He's made his name with the greats! Kendrick is the best rapper alive today. His musical style is amazing!
Not just the finest rapper of his generation, but the greatest artist of the 2010s as well
one of the greatest rappers ever
Best rap artist oat.
If he keeps up dropping all these great albums he’s definitely going to be one of the greatest artists of all time.
To Simon Bramhall, I used to be just like you; I thought rap wasn't 'real music' and that it had no musical value. But then I realized how pretentious that was, and realized that hip hop is not only one of the most influential genres of all time, but is an incredibly important one. Hip hop has been used to raise awareness and spread a message about various cultural and societal issues. Artists like NWA, Public Enemy, The Roots, Rage Against The Machine, Immortal Technique, Kendrick Lamar, etc. have used hip hop as a platform to talk about institutionalized racism, police brutality, political corruption, poverty, gang violence, and many other issues. NWA's "Fuck Tha Police" is one of the most important protest songs of all time, and Kendrick Lamar's "Alright" has become an anthem for the BLM movement. Some of the greatest lyricists and songwriters of all time are rappers. The use of sampling in hip hop isn't just taking old songs and "marketing them as your own". A talented producer can take a sample from a nother song and flip it, repurpose it, chop it up and manipulate it into something unique and original. Also, if you're gonna complain about originality then you should probably talk about cover songs. There are so many classic songs from the 60s that are cover songs. Jimi Hendrix's "All Along The Watchtower" is a cover of a Bob Dylan song. "Respect" by Aretha Franklin is a cover of an Otis Redding song. Hell, about half of the songs from The Beatles' first two albums are covers, including "Twist And Shout". Another thing, musicians have been using features since way before hip hop became a thing. The classic Beatles song "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" features Eric Clapton on lead guitar, and in case you didnt know, Eric Clapton is/was not a member of the band. Or how about "The Great Gig In The Sky" by Pink Floyd, which features a vocal performance from Clarre Tory. "The Velvet Underground & Nico" is one of the most revered albums of all time and half of the songs feature vocals from the singer Nico. Tell me, how is that any different? If you don't personally enjoy hip hop then that's fine, it might not be for everyone and I respect your opinion. But saying it has "no musical value" is just ignorant
Best rapper in history.
