One of the most promising and likable rappers of this decade, with dope lyricism and sick beat-choices. With that said, this site (along with RYM) overrates him. TPAB, now being higher ranked than classics, superior to that, is ridiculous.

s80 - good
gkmc - classic
tpab - excellent
uu - excellent
DAMN - bad

Kendrick took 2 albums to accomplish what Kanye took 5, Eminem took 3, Jay-Z took 6 and Pac and Biggie took their unfortunately short but entire discography(alive) to achieve. Not saying Kendrick's better or worse than any of the aforementioned artists, that's not my point. What I'm saying is he's just stepped into his career and is already in the same conversation as the GOAT MC's and regardless of whether you like his art or not, you've GOT TO respect that.

So promising and so talented. Such an intellectual. I started listening with the release of Damn and went back to try more stuff. Really makes you think and listen over and over to get a hang of what you're experiencing.

Very promising artist, haven't heard a bad album from him yet. He is on a hot streak with GKMC, TPAB and DAMN and I hope he will be able to continue with his next album. He is already accomplished so much in his carreer I feel like if he keep going he might shoot for the GOAT status in the next few years. Already in my top 10 hip hop artist of all time.

Personally I had never listened to rap or hip-hop of my own accord. Then just a few weeks ago I found To Pimp a Butterfly... My whole perspective has changed. Kendrick is really special. I've dived into a few of his other albums and was just as impressed. He is an amazing lyricist. Of course his life story is just uplifting. I can't relate even close to the struggle he has, but he expresses them in his music and it is just gold. Not only has he opened my eyes to rap, hip-hop, etc. but he has quickly become one of my favorite artists in just a few weeks.
