Seasick Steve was an outlier in my early music listening era. I was exploring around when I heard this guy produced Modest Mouse's debut album so it certainly was interesting. I was fairly surprised to find one of my favorite blues artists in Steve over here. Anyways, Seasick Steve is great; certainly has my vote.
I think Beck is hella overrated and his stuff always seems more interesting than it is actually enjoyable. He's almost tragic in that he's a man with loads of good ideas who doesn't have the ability to then put those into practice with the emotional resonance they require. His music and songwriting to me is like "technically proficient", but never truly connects. That said, he's still better than One-trick Steve.
