I was browsing through the A-Z charts just messing around when I came across Sheryl Crow. I'm 30, so I have the same soft spot for her that I do for Alanis Morrisette, Jewel, Matchbox Twenty, Collective Soul and all that other mid 90s softest possible rock. I even think that she transcends the whole 90s reputation because I think her body of work (especially her first two albums) is pretty respectable overall. She has her poppy hits like All I Wanna Do, but there are some really good songs that any singer/songwriter should be proud to have on her resume.
Out of all her albums, only one is on more than one chart. (Globe Session - 1998 - 5 charts)
So now that we've had nearly 20 years to mull it over, is Sheryl Crow overrated or underrated?

That's hard to say. As an expert in the genre, I've found that she's very much a singles girl. "All I Wanna Do" is great, but the rest of Tuesday Night Music Club is pretty mediocre.
Of course, I haven't listened to her in a while, so maybe I'll give her another chance.

never heard any of her albums, so i can't tell, but she has a lot of good songs: If It Makes You Happy, My Favorite Mistake, All I Wanna Do, My Favorite Mistake, Soak Up The Sun, Tomorrow Never Dies, Gone Again.... and i guess a lot of good others i haven't listened to.

Tuesday Night Music Club was one of the best albums of that year, although as has been said it is the plentiful singles from the album that are worth the while. The rest is substantially less interesting. Haven't heard any other albums of hers.

collective soul makes me want to die as much as nickleback, buckcherry, and 40 other bands i cant think of right now. Sheryl crow is probably underated on this sight. _________________ "I would expect something wrong with the poll if the chart favorite was not the poll winner" - naples 12-8-11
