Like with the last album of the day, I like it slightly less than everyone else seems to, but it's still kind of an all-timer. A phenomenal record.

Track picks
2. Should Have Known Better
7. Carrie & Lowell
9. John My Beloved
11. Blue Bucket Of Gold

My granddad died not long after this came out. It was the only thing that helped. For that alone I will love this record forever.

Yes. Carrie & Lowell is an instant classic. In this record, Sufjan returns to his Folky roots in the finest way possible with this sad and beautiful LP. Inspired by Sufjan's mother recent decease at the time, Carrie & Lowell explores life and death, grief and depression in a way few albums can, i honestly think there are not many artists who can put this level of emotion and self expression. Just like with Lonerism and TPAB i think this is one one of the greatest records of the decade.

Pick tracks:

-Death With Dignity
-Should Have Known Better
-The Only Thing

Don't you just love when an album you love is album of the day, and you start to read to comments and they are all full of praise and love for it? Applause

About the album itself, not much more that can be said, it's a stone cold masterpiece and one of the greatest albums of the decade. I also feel it's Sufjan's best album and one of the best grieving albums that has such a big healing potential.
The second half of Should Have Known Better is pure magic and one of my favourite music moments ever.
