Maybe I need to give Odelay another chance Idk.
I mean I listened to Solid Air by John Martyn last week and my esteem of it was transformed positively.

Like I know Beck is talented.

Ok

I listened to Odelay again.

I now concede it has several good songs on it.
I liked it a whole lot more than the last time I heard it.

While it's not going into my top 100 albums list, it has grown in my esteem, for what it matters.

Beck is inventive and original.
And this was no doubt a very influential record.

I can’t stand Beck, especially after he stole the Grammy from Beyoncé, which even by Grammy standards is the equivalent of Green Book. And I can’t think of many alt-rock touchstones that feel so hopelessly dated to me as this

Beck is great live.

Beck is great on multiple albums (more than most artists).

Beck is just great. He rightly earns a top 10 spot for me. Even if my top ten is really a top 50.

Beck is very different across so much albums so would agree.

Don't have a strong opinion on Beck. I find him fairly unremarkable. All his stuff is a decent listen without making me feel that it's anything more than being OK. I don't go along with him being that original, even though it's something that gets said plenty. White guy has some alternative tracks and puts some hip hop influence in, not original in '96 by a long way. Obviously talented and keeps things fresh on his different records. Have this cd somewhere so might dig it out to see if I feel the same.
