There was a bunch of stuff that came out for alt country ppl (myself).
I walked a way with:

Todd Snider 7"
Lydia Loveless and Cory Brannan cover prince 7"
Justing Townes Earle - Live @ Grimey's
Johnny Cash - Live in Prague '78

plus some other goodies. i was probably in line for like an hour, but i just loved talking to everyone in line. so many different types of ppl can get into RSD. seriously fun.

So my RSD happened on the Sunday due to what has now be diagnosed as a chest infection. As such, London was off the menu so I trundled over to People Records in the leafy Surrey town of Guildford (run by the drummer of the Vapors - you know, the guys who recorded Turning Japanese) and picked up:

Take Fountain by The Wedding Present

Plus some other stuff:

Gliss Riffer by Dan Deacon

Burnt Offering by The Budos Band

Factory Floor by Factory Floor

They also had Kip Of The Serenes in stock but I figured I wasn't in the mood for some hippy dippy prog shit, so I left it.

To those of you bummed about not getting the Red House Painters box set, I bring you good news. $AD is reissuing the albums separately and you can purchase the bundle for $75, which is a hell of a lot better than buying the box on Ebay for $400. and pre-order gets you in the running for a test press copy!

Ha, figured this would happen, just was too paranoid that they'd never put it out. Well, I would have gone that route had I known but I'm still pretty happy to own the box.

Yeah. I'd prefer to have the box, so this is just a nice consolation prize for me. plus my wife will be happy when i don't break the bank on Red House Painters records.
