Music is about many things, great writing, performance, musicianship but it's also very much about how it makes you feel either physically or emotionally. So I was wondering what music llicites a reaction in you. I'll start.

Just listening to The Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips. Whenever I hear the opening track, Race For The Prize, I get goosebumps. Can't help it and have no control over it.

Another and very obvious one is Johnny Cash's version of Trent Reznor's Hurt. Always get a tear in the eye when I hear it.

So what music moves you?

Lots of songs. "Hard to Find," by The National; "Have You Forgotten," by Red House Painters; "Shelter From the Storm," by Bob Dylan; etc.

The one song that really gets me is "Boys," by Sky Ferreira. Something about that chorus absolutely gets me on this deep level. The combination of the harmonies and the reverbed-soaked, flaming guitars is just absolutely beautiful to me.

This is a good list of particular moments in songs that give you the chills. I particulary agree with No. 1,the bridge in spanish sahara is one of the most intense moments every. From the first time i listen to that song i was screaming in that moment.

Also, I can't help but feel emotion during Jeff Buckley's version of "Hallelujah".

And the last one, a Shaimus song that's really unlike them, they never actually released it on an album, it was just kinda posted on their website, and it just sounds like it's coming from a place of so much pain. A song about questioning one's existence and a song that sounds like it's coming straight from someone dealing with some serious depression. It's beautiful.

I had Race for the Prize on repeat today and was feeling chills down my spine. I don't think I could name a more than a handful of songs that have such an intense emotional impact on me.
