it looks kind of nice to see the Parachutes and Dark Side of The Moon right next to each other, they fit each other in a way.
I also remember some years ago this being aotd. I love it a little less now since I rarely return to it (at least in comparison with Rush of Blood and X&Y) but I still love it a fair bit and contains some of my favorite Coldplay songs in Don't Panic, Yellow, Trouble, and We Never Change.
Even though I really disagree and dislike Scaruffi's take on the band, the one statement I agree with him on are that Chris Martin is a better vocalist than this album allows him to be - and for me, he shines more on the aforementioned 2 albums later on (alongside Viva). _________________ My Top 100 :

Coldplay's trajectory is a story full of pain, especially if you are a fan of their debut album, as they would soon go on to become too big for their own good and lose their initial charm. Don't get me wrong, I do like A Rush Of Blood To The Head and Viva La Vida - parts of them at least - but Parachutes is a rare breed of an album, that's Coldplay at their most sincere, sensitive and as a result relatable, my favourite album of theirs and it's not even close. Few albums have left their mark on my childhood/adolescence and this is one of them. _________________ Bob Dylan

Such a wonderful, wonderful records. It's got such an intimate atmosphere which no other Coldplay album has, and feels so warm and sleepy, the sound fits the cover perfectly,
So many great songs, I've always had a soft spot for Shiver, with its energetic guitars and a passionate Chris Martin vocal. _________________ All time
