Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 65.9/100, a mean average of 64.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 65.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.2.

Interesting songs, but I think as a whole project I prefer their Beatles and King Crimson cover albums
CRINGE OF CRINGE AF
A compelling record
i love this, call me crazy the fresh take on the fm staples is welcome to these ears. i actually listen to this more than the original since its release.
Why oh why? Oh yeah, "money"...
This is essentially what you would expect from a Lips does Dark Side album. I would consider it a fairly liberal interpretation of the original, and incorporates the typical Flaming Lips trademarks (the infusion of electronic elements, general weirdness..)
This album loses me when it strays too far from its roots. I get that this is supposed to be a modern or original interpretation, but some of the more magical moments of Dark Side (I personally adore the transition of Speak to Me to Breathe) are lost with the absurd tempo changes and addition of unnecessary instruments. High spots for include a very unique "Money" and an "Us and Them", which is marked with originality, but does not stray from the mood of the Pink Floyd rendition.
Give the Flaming Lips credit for trying creative projects. These are the Zaireeka boys after all. This is really ambitious, but doesn't quite hit the mark.
