meccalecca 04/14/2013 15:55After releasing 3 of their best albums, this one seems to miss the mark. News of the World is an album I grew up loving but it's extremely inconsistent in comparison to previous releases.

A really great & often overlooked album.
When I was a classic rock fanboy, I would say i enjoy this. Now I say i don't like it too much because it just isn't that good (in my opinion). What I feel wrong here is that they attempt to make catchy songs and the songs themselves aren't really that catchy.
jhuikFreddy used to introduce track 5 in concert with "Some people call this Spread Your Legs and that's all right with us..." Gosh, there are so few bands today that have this sheer exuberance for making lovable music.
Album on which are two most frequently played songs by Queen.
Great album, but We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions have been so overplayed, I've lost my taste for it. For shame - it's quality work.
This is my favorite Queen album. Get Down Make Love and Sheer heart Attack are my two favorites but every song on the album is either classic or great.
Queen's most mainstream sounding album since their start is this one. Not a bad thing. Diverse album too, which includes slow piano ballads like All Dead All Dead and My Melancholy Blues, rock songs like It's Late, We Will Rock You, Sheer Heart Attack, among others, and an interesting psychedelic treat in the very polarizing, Get Down Make Love. This is a must listen for Queen fans.
