his hommage to Prince
drivebytornado 03/02/2013 02:04For some reason, this was the one Beck album that I didn't buy at the time. I always intended to get it, but never got around to it. This is close to being a really good album, with very good tracks like "Sexx Laws" "Mixed Bizness" "Milk and Honey" and "Beautiful Way" plus about three more real good songs. The problem is there's 4 or 5 songs that are very skippable.
I missed the boat when this came out but that is a very strong track list.
I love it... Beck at his most funky. He's feeling confident after Odelay and Mutations, and he lets fly on this one. Debra is a classic, and Nicotine and Gravy, Sexx Laws, Peaches and Cream are all ace tracks. This should be much higher ranked. One of his best.

Underrated, such a great flow to it, infact it doesn't stop, like 1 long song, perfect party album.
I like the fact that I have never heard anything as eclectic as this album. it amazes me everytime I listen to it.
"Rubber Soul" and the best of whichever sensitive singer you prefer (Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, Bob Marley) are close . . . but this might be the single greatest get-you-laid album ever made.
