Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.7/100, a mean average of 68.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.9.

Apparently the guys were only in their teens when they cut this album. It does sound a little like they were finding their feet which is fair enough, they were. 'Hello America' is the track which resonates with me the most. Can rember a guy in my class bringing this album to School and the music teacher playing a couple tracks, sounded very original and fresh then...
Finding there feet and it shows. A few good typical rock tracks but nothing that really stands out. Bit to much cheese. A great building block for what was to come with 'High 'n Dry'.
Some great tracks on here although the album lacks variety too much the same throughout albeit great guitar riffs.
I like this album a lot. It's not perfect and it definitely shows its age, but "Overture", "Rock Brigade", "When the Walls Came Tumbling Down" and "It Don't Matter" are great songs.
The songs are a little good, but it's only a beginner's album. It's probably better than all the most recent Def Leppard albums.
one of the worst album covers in popular music history
A rather average album without much that sticks out. Rock Brigade is a good song, and the guitar work on Overture is worth checking out. Everything in between is decent 80s hard rock, but nothing more.
