Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.2/100, a mean average of 69.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.9.

It was an early sign of what was coming in the 80s.

For some reason this one has been decried by fans and critics alike for years as the first lousy Aerosmith album. Perhaps it labours under the shadow of 'Rocks' and 'Toys', as it's not up to their standards, but it's a far cry from the crud that is 'Night in the Ruts'. For me, this is the last decent record of theirs that captures their loose and raunchy 70s sound

I agree with Bork. The last decent album before Permanent Vacation. 10 years of crap in between. They were starting to slide to the drug-induced depths, but there's still lots to like here. Draw the Line and Critical Mass are strong, and there's always Kings and Queens...

Mostly for those already sold on the sound, but if you are it rocks good. It would be eight years of drugs and rehab before they would turn interesting again.
