Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.1/100, a mean average of 77.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.2.

There's some good things on here notably Out Of The Sinking, Time Passes, Wings Of Speed and Broken Stones. Some of the record seems to repeat itself Whirlpool sounds like Changing man for instance. Overall decent.
Amongst several excellent solo albums, Stanley Road is just a level above all the rest. Flawless.
Weller follows up a masterpiece (Wild Wood) with another masterpiece. As good as anything he did with The Jam or Style Council
Wellers most consistent solo outing. Time passes is just lovely. Changing man or 10538 overture rehashed, is still a highlight. Similar to start, he avoided plagiarism with this one. Still a very pleasing and solid output.
Paul Weller and the Jam/Style Council have been at the periphery of my music taste for years - enjoying hearing the singles but never getting an album. I did get a Greatest Hits a few years back but only got this album about 2016.
"You Do Something To Me" is one of the best, sweeping songs you will ever hear. But there are so many good tracks here with The ChangingMan, Broken Stones, Out Of The Sinking and Wings Of Speed all doing it for me.
It lands at 101 for me though
Another Great album from Mr. Weller 'Out of the Sinking' my favourite here along with 'Broken Stones' regarded as his best album with most of his well known tracks although I prefer its Predecessor.
WOOOOOO, THAT SOUNDS GREAT JOJOEXILE! I'LL RECORD MUSIC TOO! PAUL WELLER IS GREAT! EVERYTHING IS GREAT!
CERTAINLY RECALLS BITTERSWEET MEMORIES OF 1995...THE PICCIDILLY TOWER RECORDS HAD A HUGE DISPLAY IN THE STORE FRONT WINDOW...THE SONGS ARE REMARKABLE AND I WILL ALWAYS REVISITE THIS FOR HOW IT MAKES ME FEEL...MELANCHOLY OR NOSTALGIC...
You Do Something To Me, and Broken Stones would be regarded as standards if they were released 60 years ago.
