Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 11% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.8/100, a mean average of 73.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.5.

Everyone loves In My Darkest Hour and Set the World Afire, but I think Mary Jane and Hook In Mouth deserve some recognition as well. It's no Peace Sells, but it's good thrash.

I think most fans would agree this isn't Megadeth's best album, but it has In My Darkest Hour, which is one of their best songs; this song alone makes this decent album more than a decent album. Set The World Afire is another classic. The rest of the album is good, even great at times, but just suffers from some unforgettable riffs and spacey production to be considered among the top tier Megadeth albums. Maybe it's just that compared to the albums that came before and after it, it pales in comparison. Nonetheless you'll still like this album if you like anything by Megadeth so far.... But aside from the two aforementioned songs, it feels like potential B-sides from Peace Sells. This is partly because of the sudden shifts in guitar and drum players, as well as consistent drug problems the whole band would go through from 87-89.

Not one of my favorite Megadeth albums, but it undeniable has some nice stuff on there! Particularly In My Darkest Hour of course and my personal favorite track on this one Set the World Afire. It could have been better, but it could have been a lot worse. Still love it though!

The follow up to, peace sells, so far, so good, is slightly underrated in my opinion. Alright, there is an absolutely appalling version of the Sex Pistols classic, anarchy in the U.K., but the rest of the album is fine. Set the world afire, is great, as is the excellent, hook in mouth(brilliant lyrics about the PMRC), but the finest moment is the superb, in my darkest hour, written after the death of ex-Metallica bandmate Cliff Burton it's one of Dave Mustaine's best ever songs. A good album then, just let down by an ill advised cover version.

A step back from their previous album....thankfully the band regrouped nicely after this one.
