Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.5/100, a mean average of 72.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.3.

I am led to believe that Greenslade were considered to be classed as second division in the prog department. I don't really understand why. If you take this album for example, to start with it has an amazing Roger Dean cover which invites you into a world of fantasy. Unusually there was no lead or rhythm guitar, perhaps this played a part in their ratings in the prog world at the time? For me, the lack of a guitarist is more than made up for by lashings of Mellotron, served up with electric piano and organ. If I want to submerse myself in Mellotronesque prog I reach for this or Bedside Manners are Extra. My favourite track is 'Sundance' which has some beautiful piano over Tron strings coupled with moments of solid rock with electric piano and organ providing the lead over Tron washes. If the solo on the last track had been created on a Mini Moog it would blow your mind!
