Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Whether or not you like this will depend on how much you like KISS and how much you like rock bands tinkering with orchestras. Since I love KISS I like the idea of it. All these versions of the songs are good. Particularly "Goin' Blind" and "Shandi." Both rarely played live. But the real gem here is the only ever live performance of "Great Expectations" with all the orchestra candy it required.
Does the world really need another live record by Kiss?
