Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 65.2/100, a mean average of 63.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 63.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.0.

Very secondary album. It was all there
Woof ! . This album is a dumpster fire , other than ' Chemicals Between Us' the rest is ho hum.
Bush realizes after a couple albums that they sound pretty similar and have little potential musically.
So on The Science of Things they add some bloops and bleeps electronically to mix it up.
It is all a ho hum drab affair apart from a couple decent tracks.
Warm Machine is actually pretty good and is on par with the best from their debut.
Let the Cables Sleep is a really good atmospheric ballad but sophomoric in it's musicianship.
This is all power chords strummed or plucked.
Jesus Online wasn't good to start but with the passing of time and technology advancement, it is downright embarrassing.
The Chemicals Between Us is the other potential keeper here and the most well known song from the album. It sounds awfully 90's and as poppy as Bush gets.
Otherwise the rest of this is an easy pass
A pretty dull album overall, but the 3 singles are still great.
Me too. Pass.
Here they try to throw in some electronic sounds. It's a controversial move for a reason. Of all the 90s bands you'd expect to try to pull that shit, Bush would have been one of the last. There are some really good songs here though.
I'll take a pass on this one.
