Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 89.1/100, a mean average of 88.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.3/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.3.

Pretty average lyrics about Japanese business men 'self destructing'. I was going to write this song but I lost my fag packet.

Even so it's still a good track.

Jagged guitars, echoing double track vocals, and possibly the best lyric ever in "You'll think I'm dead, but I sail away" make this one of my favorite songs on one of the best albums filled with them.

One of the most catchy and accessible Pixies songs but still amazing

Check out these lyrics: "I've kissed mermaids, rode the El Niño / Walked the sand with the crustaceans / Could find my way to Mariana / On a wave of mutilation." I couldn't tell you what a wave of mutilation is, but it sounds appropriately ominous. Then again, this isn't really one of the Pixies' most ominous songs--it's actually a heavenly little slice of deranged pop. I have no idea what it's about, though.

Calmed down a tad. Still upbeat, but less screaming. I like it a lot.
