Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 2% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 85.8/100, a mean average of 85.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 86.7/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.9.

A very atmospheric piece and a great closer. However, this song comes into its own as a live piece. Experiencing the theatre of that dry ice and purple lights as the music soared is something I'll never forget.
Beautiful, atmospheric ballad to bring Wind & Wuthering to a close. A bit of a twisted love song, as it describes the "afterglow" of a special relationship gone wrong, Afterglow makes great use of layered vocals and Banks' glowing synthesizers to tell the tale. I think it's a little too slow and a little too simple musically to be considered an all-time classic, but it's still a lovely track. The final verses especially are quite excellent. A fitting end to Genesis' transitional four-piece era.
It is a good album ender. Very atmospheric, and a great live favourite.
I love this song. It is the best ballad Genesis has ever done. In concert it was fantastic. A great end for this album.
