Which one does the verse that starts out "I woke up early on my born day (?)"?

That's AZ right?

Either way I like that one the mostest.

Yeah, just listened again AFTER voting. I forgot how great that first verse is. I guess it's just easier for me to follow the smooth flow of Nas so I probably would still vote Nas even now. It would be a tougher choice however. I find myself thinking of Nas' words there a lot thru life. That like that is "I changed my motto, instead of saying fuck tomorrow that buck that bought the bottle coulda struck the lotto." Is just sooooo excellent and relatable to me. Really beautiful though.

Not to change the subject (whilst clearly doing so) "Ain't Hard To Tell">"NY State of Mind" > "Life's A Bitch" > "Halftime" > "Memory Lane" ...and the rest is great too...

Really? My untrained ear tells me it's great! I don't understand.

If he left a brief pause and started on the off-beat then it would've sounded way better. As it is, it sounds like it's a syllable short. Eh, it's a minor complaint, but it's always bugged me.

Definitely Nas. I don't see the attraction of AZ at all really, all I took from Doe or Die is the urge to say "I thought you knew that" each time someone says "true that". Life's a Bitch for me is the weakest track on Illmatic.
