I think I can supply a top ten for this one, I just don't understand what Electronic Music means, I mean do electric guitars count? cuz that would be pretty dumb imo...
Electronic Music usually means music that's mostly made with synthesizers, drum programming and other electronics: Kraftwerk, Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, Moby etc.
I'm not overwhelmed by genre threads, so I want to play.
I like tons and tons of electronic music, so I wouldn't know where to begin. So I'm just going to list the top 10 electronic artists in My overall Top 100. My taste in electronic music is really more diverse and adventurous than these albums would imply, but when it comes down to it these are the ones I've I've always enjoyed the most over many years.
That'd mean artist like Michael Jackson or Daft Punk couldn't play. It's primarily electronic music... electronic music does not ostracize guitars from the genre as far as I can tell, but the way the guitar plays a role in electronic music is entirely different than in rock music. Same with bass guitar -there's live tracked bass guitars in rap music/electronic music, etc... that doesn't mean it's rock music. And then there's The Doors who is considered a rock band playing bass on a keyboard (mostly). Check RichardSauce quote, and everything will be just fine.
I really like the Electronic Music of the past few years. Daft Punk pales in comparison for me. I think good music of the past was more Rock artists like Pink Floyd, although maybe they are electronic too.. I don't know. I think these albums are kind of like Bowie's Low that the wise bobbyb5 voted for but I like them much better..

I generally think of Bowie as a rock artist, but not necessarily that album. Even though it has some live drums and guitar on it, the focus is basically electronic. Especially side 2. I actually wasn't going to include it in my list, but I had said I was just going to list the top 10 electronic albums in my top 100, and just decided to include it because it was there, even though I could just as easily describe it as a rock album.

It's the 3rd genre listed in Wikipedia. I think if one can tie it to another source claiming it as such, it's legit.

Was reading that Low article and saw this and thought it worthy of sharing:
Quote:
At the forefront of Low's sound was Visconti's recent acquisition: an Eventide H910 Harmonizer. When Bowie asked what it did, Visconti replied, "it fucks with the fabric of time."[26]
