This was a pleasant pop album. Enjoyable throughout, though without the highlights that Rumors has. Landslide was the one I already knew and was probably my favorite, though I still prefer the Smashing Pumpkins version. Probably needs another listen or two to really dig into some of these songs.
This is one of my 2 or 3 favorite black metal albums of all time.

Yep, this was a hard hour to get through, but it was quite good for what it was. I put it on in the background and it only made me think somebody was drilling a hole in my wall next door a few times in the last 20 minutes. All the noisiness and ambience I could want.

I think I'd have a great appreciation / more connection to this if I was a Cash fan back in the early 2000s when it was released. It's up there with Blackstar and You Want It Darker as an album by someone who knew the end was near, and it really comes through in some of the song choices. Even songs that aren't really about death like In My Life stand out in a different light in this context. But for me I didn't have a lot of familiarity with Cash before his death; I remember hearing that he died but I didn't really know who he was at the time. So I think this would have more emotional impact if I had memories of listening to his music and then he came out with this. As it is, there are still some great songs here. Hurt is great of course, and I've always liked his cover of Personal Jesus too. I like Cash's voice a lot and it really works well here with the stark instruments. I don't think all the songs work though - he doesn't do much to change or elevate In My Life, and I could do without the Bridge Over Troubled Water cover too (though I'm biased because I've never liked that song). Overall it's a fascinating listen but not one that I felt a lot of connection to.
Listen to Hardfloor Chief.

This was a nice, laid-back set of jazz-textured atmospherics. I'm finding it hard to call it jazz, as any jazz elements seem to be stifled in favor of hip-hop mood preservation. So, it's just hip-hop featuring traditional jazz instruments. But, it does succeed as hip-hop, and would work nicely for casual enjoyment or background music. The interview clips in "Psychedelic Sonia" might make relistening to that track a little tedious, though. Especially given its length.

This was interesting. It's not often you hear a singer/songwriter singing along to just him and his cello. Although classically trained most of these songs seem to fall into the art pop/ chamber pop category, but as this is a posthumous release of unreleased material, and he apparently experimented with different styles, including disco, there is some variety of style and musicality later in the album. He has a great voice, but the songs themselves didn't quite resonate with me enough to give this more than a 7/10, and place it at 53/65 in my 1994 chart.
Jameth although I've only heard their self titled debut, I've gotta go with the kind of legendary down here The Masters Apprentices.

Hey now, it's an Acid Techno that I could get into. One thing I've come to recognize about 90s techno of this nature is that the repetition and the cold and mechanical textures don't really do much for me. However, this album by Hardfloor manages to stay within that realm while not getting to monotonous over it's runtime. The first track is a banger, and the rest of the tracks are good to just OK. Overall, I did like this one enough to warrant some more listens in the future, probably. BTW, I got this one from one of guzguzgarbit's charts. You should check them out for techno recs.

Dead As Dreams by Weakling
I was hyped to hear this, since it was praised pretty much everywhere I've seen it mentioned. Plus it's one of babyBlueSedan's favourite black metal albums. And it delivered on all fronts. From the tortured vocals, to the fantastic guitar tone on the beginning of the title track to the production which is just as raw as it needs to be. It could be called progressive black metal I guess, every song is over 10 minutes long and they mostly have multiple sections, like that huge title track which is over 20 minutes long, but still sounds very coherent and doesn't "break the mood" so to speak. And that's what Dead As Dreams is all about: great instrumentals (and vocals) setting the mood. I don't think there's anything that I disliked here. Definitely a keeper. 9/10

Sorry to keep you waiting so long chief (3 days is a record I think :/). Try Steve Moore, from what I've read it's a combination of electronic music and progressive rock.

Going into this, the one thing I new about Tusk is that it has a reputation of being an uneven, messy album. And I'd say it lives up to that reputation. I'd also say I liked it a lot better than their '75 self-titled, and...maybe more than Rumors? It's definitely too long, with a couple tracks (the title track and Not That Funny are the two that stand out most) that don't really work at all. But there are quite a few great tracks. I remember all of the tracks Stevie sang on being good, and the opening run is particularly strong. I like the country vibe on a lot of the songs. I get why this probably wasn't as well received, as there is no Dreams or Rhiannon to be found here. But I think it's a strong set of songs all things considered.
Glad you liked Dead as Dreams! It has some of the best vocals of any metal album I've heard, and the drum sound is just excellent. This is the only one I've heard from your list, and unfortunately I can't give it quite as glowing of a recommendation. I'm not a big fan of Neurosis, but this is the one album from them I remember enjoying a bit.

You didn't quite do it right. You just need to recommend an album for babyblue from his list, the 10 listed on his post, then I'll rec you one. Which I'll go ahead and give you Fantatstic Planet by Failure, because it's pretty damn overlooked. The singer was unfortunately compared to Kurt Cobain too much, and that might have caused some to write them off as just another grunge band, but they're got more chops than that.
This was pleasant to listen to, but it got boring fast.
