Ridiculously close for me, two incredible guitarists, but I have to give Beck the edge. The way he plays is almost unparalleled to me.

Not sure if you're serious. I find it hard to conceive anyone playing circles around either one of these titans. But beck is equally technical and fast, but far more innovative in terms of sound and engineering and style. Both are legends though.
Beck should have been in the elite 8 though.

Well, circles may be a bit hyperbolic. 🤣
But I will say I didn't think twice about my vote in this match, and I've heard plenty of Beck's playing. Less an indictment of him and more just really loving McLaughlin.

That's a bit of a stretch. If someone told me McLaughlin was a better guitarist than Beck, I'd have a difficult time arguing, but it's ridiculously close.
That being said, if Beck is gonna lose to anyone, he could do a hell of a lot worse than McLaughlin
