I've seen some disparaging comments about McLaughlin in the past which I get, sometimes his style can be a bit overbearing, but fuck if he isn't a big reason why electric era Miles is my favorite. The clarity and fluidity of his work on Jack Johnson is just marvelous. Plus the Mahv stuff really shows off just how crazy good he is as a technical guitarist. He definitely wasn't as foundational as Django or Wes in developing jazz guitar, but on those Davis albums he was doing a lot that hadn't really been explored before and doing it damn well. Anyways, easy vote this time but I'm curious to see what the next few will be like.
