Im liking the nostalgia trip of the last top five thread, and since the decade is nearing it's half-way mark I guess it's fun to look back at the previous years of the decade so far, so for now 2012 (I know some already posted in that thread, but I guess now just for general grouping and point of discussion we can collect it all in one thread). 2012 was great, though perhaps just because it's when I joined BEA Razz. Also just a lot of massive, monolithic releases.

Anyways, top 5

I never made a proper 2012 chart, but I think these are likely my favorites of the year.

1.

Wixiw by Liars

2.

Good Kid, M.A.A.D City by Kendrick Lamar

3.

Among The Leaves by Sun Kil Moon

4.

Sweet Heart Sweet Light by Spiritualized

5.

Paralytic Stalks by of Montreal

And honorable mentions to The Seer, Luxury Problems, Holiday (Port St. Willow album), Quarantine, Pipe Dreams (Whirr), Idler Wheel, and A Sleep & A Forgetting.

My favorite ep from the year was Undersea.

I decided not to include the MBV and Disintegration Loops comps in there, but they'd both easily be top five if I did.
