Now that this is actually a thing thats happening (rather than just an idea), please discuss it over in the new topic: http://www.besteveralbums.com/phpBB2/vi...hp?t=12767
I think it would make for an awesome RPG Maker project for the community. We could do like a "Quest For the Best Album". Where you have to travel to the dark side of the moon, cross the abbey road, retrieve a revolver that shoots pet sounds, to defeat the boss Ziggy Stardust (I don't even know why I'm coming to the community for ideas with that brilliant one right there). All the characters of the game could be members of the community.
To be clear, I'm not asking someone to make this, I will be the one to make it but I need you guys on board, and I would also need ideas (was definitely not serious with the whole Ziggy Stardust boss idea btw).
If you think this is incredibly stupid let me know, I'm literally just throwing this out there as a possibility.
EDIT: I can't do this without your guys help, so if you want this to happen find a way to help out. Writers, musicians, artists, I could use anyone. Even pitching ideas would be incredibly useful.

I have 0 experience or know-how on computer programming or video games etc, so I don't think I will be much of a resource there. But if you need ideas or want to float some by me/us, I'm def. game. |
Yeah tell me about it, it's gonna take a while for sure. With the help of the community though I think it's very possible. So yeah, I need ideas.
EDIT: I know that there are some good musicians on BEA, if anyone would be willing to make a soundtrack for the game that would be awesome!

This game will be more of a tribute to the website rather than a game I'll go through the effort of publishing and selling, so I doubt we'll have many problems, but yeah we could always change names of stuff (Ricky Moondust or something like that).

You wouldn't have to. Just make the boss look like Ziggy.

There could be a character selection system with some well known users on the site, and I vote for nachosbob being an unlockable character.

I used to code for RPGmaker games, and its... a taxing endeavor. I've never seen a community game ever even make it to alpha so prove me wrong.
