Amazingly enough, considering how absolutely awe-inspiring this man's discography is, this is his greatest work. Start to finish, this album is a 45 or so minute concatenation of insight, deep feelings, subtle musical moments of beauty, and an ebb and flow of brilliantly written humor and tragedy. It's really quite incredible.

Brilliantly written, couldn't have said it better myself.
This is the perfect excuse to listen to it again tonight.

I kind of adore this album. The first time I listened to Blood on the Tracks I immediately felt a warm, somewhat inviting feel from the production and the songs themselves. It's kind of one of those albums that engulfs your entire being for it's duration, at least for me. It's beautiful and I don't care how sad it makes me.

Listened to it again this morning. Words cannot explain the love I have for this album, the lyrics are heartbreaking but the sound is so warn and some melodies you begin to love even before you looked at the lyrics. Bob's singing here is incredibly emotional and he never sounded better.

Also Idiot Wind is maybe the best Dylan song ever, so gut-wrenchingly bitter and tragic.

I would've picked the same four songs.
