Way too hard to single out the best one. But the first I thought of was "Alexander the Great" off of Iron Maiden's "Somewhere in Time".

PS. By the gods, it feels great to really be back to enjoying metal again after some years in the wilderness. Smile

Albums on my chart for which the closing track is my favorite:

Automatic for the People (Find the River)
Permanent Waves (Natural Science)
Closer (Decades)
Mezmerize (Lost in Hollywood)
Images and Words (Learning to Live)
Powerslave (Rime of the Ancient Mariner)
Aja (Josie)
Who's Next (Won't Get Fooled Again)
Rated R (I Think I Lost My Headache)
Surfer Rosa (Brick Is Red)
The Bends (Street Spirit (Fade Out))
OK Computer (The Tourist)
Grace (Dream Brother)
...And Justice for All (Dyers' Eve)

Other albums with outstanding closers:

Doolittle (Gouge Away)
Superunknown (Like Suicide)
Slaughter of the Soul (The Flames of the End)
Leviathan (Joseph Merrick)
A Day at the Races (Teo Torriatte)
Ride the Lightning (Call of Ktulu)
Marquee Moon (Torn Curtain)
Foxtrot (Supper's Ready)
Scenes from a Memory (Finally Free)
Innuendo (The Show Must Go On)
(What's the Story) Morning Glory? (Champagne Supernova)
The Beatles (Good Night)
The Marshall Mathers LP (Criminal)

So I guess it would have to be one of those. Probably "Find the River" for me.

That song's the highlight of the album for me. Of course, my favorite Who song of all time is Who Are You.

I agree with much of whats already been posted. Not mentioned so far tho are:

Wolf At The Door (Hail To The Thief) by Radiohead
Love Is Blindness (Achtung Baby) by U2
For Your Pleasure (For Your Pleasure) by Roxy Music
Almost Independence Day (Saint Dominic's Preview) by Van Morrison
The Bewlay Brothers (Hunky Dory) by David Bowie
Little Earthquakes (Little Earthquakes) by Tori Amos
Gold Dust (Scarlets Walk) by Tori Amos
Crazy Man Michael (Liege and Lief) by Fairport Convention
Amen (Pieces Of You) by Jewel
Grassman (Homegrown) by Dodgy
How Many More Times (Led Zeppelin) by Led Zeppelin
Tea For One (Prescence) by Led Zeppelin

also check out Ends Dont Mend (King Of Conflict) by The Virginmarys - sounds like a 60s/70s epic given a modern twist (amazing album too!)
