Just listened to this for the first time. Absolutely stunning. Will have to give it more listens in the near future, but it will definitely be going on my chart for now.

This album is a trip. Brilliant too. Most of the tracks I'm unable to separate from the whole, but the title track and Frontier Psychiatrist in particular are really killer.

I really so love this album. The funny thing is I just like 3 minutes before seeing that "Since I Left You" was aotd, I had just went and retrieved my CD copy of the album that I had loaned to a South African friend of mine. He really loves it too. Love getting people into music. This site and pitchforks 2000s decade chart is what turned me onto checking this album out.

Anyway, it's a truly unique album. It is in my collection anyways and it is so overwhelmingly creative. I will be incredibly happy when they release a new album, if they ever do. Wayyyy more exciting to me than MBVs new album.

Anyway, The Avalanches only LP is ranked #91 on my overall chart.

Here's what I wrote about this on that chart:

"This is a joyous album. Dancy. Composed of a lot of really well done samples pulled from a lot of places. But it all flows and it all comes together as a cohesive party album that rewards close, attentive listening. There are just thousands of details in this music. Really genius level stuff. I love it! Give it a good try, LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE THING AND PAY CLOSE ATTENTION. If you haven't already, that is.
Beast songs: "Frontier Paychiatrist" and "Electricity" and "Radio" and the title track."

Simply genius. Number 1 in my 2000s chart and in the top ten of my all-time greatest.
