Has recently entered my top 10. Androgynous and Sixteen Blue are two of my favorite songs ever. And the whole album is awesome.

Used to be in my top 5, it's fallen since then and isn't all perfect songs songs, but it's damn close to that and every song is amazing anyways. If anything the less then perfect songs like Gary's Got A Boner, while still being great songs in my eyes, just give the album more character. It may not be quite the definition of a perfect album song by song, but when taken as a whole I have trouble giving it anything less than a 10/10. Maybe that's a flaw in my rating system but I just love it too much.

Tim and Let It Be are just awesome. Both in my chart.

"Tim" however is a far better album in my opinion.

It's #77 on my overall chart. Here's my comment on my chart for this album:

"Really good ramshackle rock album with so much heart it hurts! This feels like a pure rock and roll indie album done by a great young romanticist. It's high points feel so real and heartbreaking and relatable. Paul Westerberg is an amazingly deft songwriter. Even at this early stage in his development as such you can hear his beautiful details all over the place in the lyrics of 'Unsatisfied' and 'Answering Machine' and 'Androgynous' and 'Favorite Thing" and other classics here. This really is a great Indie rock classic!
Best Songs: see above, along with the Kiss cover 'Black Diamond' and the opener 'I Will Dare'"

I recently picked this up at a used CD store and have really been diggin it as of late.

Would be better without the boner song, though, tbh.

This is the one album I've truly fallen in love with since starting college. It's in my top ten, and it'll stay there for a long, long time. It's such a fun, kickass album with some really great songs. Honestly, the front half is quite a bit stronger than the back half, but hot damn, do all of these songs have a ton to offer. Really one of the best albums of punk, and of the eighties.

Track picks
1. I Will Dare
2. Favorite Thing
3. We're Comin' Out
5. Androgynous
8. Seen Your Video

Tim and this album have recently become parts of me. Androgynous is my favorite song of all time (I always change but right now it is). The message of tolerance it brings is worthier than any campaign or protest you could ever hope to do. I actually love Gary's Got A Boner (maybe that's because I never looked at the lyrics, though). This album is absolutely breathtaking, and could make it way higher on my chart if I hade the motivation to change it totally. I still prefer Tim, though, but these albums are the definition of unrankable. They're so close in quality it hurts.

Also, I think the singer has the most emotionally touching and honest-sounding voice of all time.

This album has been life-changing to me.
