Beach House are a decent band but boring overall.

(Not sure about those track picks actually, I have only listened to this album twice and that was a long time ago.)

This album raises many questions. Not the least of which is: Halle Berry or Hallelujah?

Laughing

also I'm in the "Bloom is better" camp. Much better. 'Norway' is still incredible though.

This always reminds me of Twin Peaks.. You know...

On a serious note, this is fucking gorgeous, I don't even know what exactly draws me to it the most - is it Victoria's voice, or the dreamy guitar, the melodies or whatever... I guess the combination of them just strikes a note with me, it's just so beautiful and by the end of Real Love I'm always near tears.

My favourite album of the decade so far.

An absolute beaut, I just love how this album communicates a geniune sense of longing but the production allows the listener to interpret it's specific messages in their own way, be it is a love story, march towards purgatory or a sense of regret towards a life they wished they lived but never did. "Silver Soul" is an all-time favorite

I always thought this was the weakest dream pop/shoegazey record out of the "newgaze" movement. It gets way too much attention and isn't very provoking or interesting. But people like it, so it obviously has something going for it. Maybe it's a good entry level record to the genre? I don't know. I still don't really care for it.

This record came into my life at a very special time. It's one of the warmest and most humane albums I've ever experienced. It's the sonic equivalent of a good warm hug with the one you've always loved. Okay, okay, so that last description was ridiculous perhaps, but that's really how this album makes me feel. It's dreamy, it's gorgeous, it's romantic, it's sad, it's actually just an amazing musical experience.

Oh and if you were to ask me "What is your favorite song EVER, Ryan?" Right now and for the last 2 years I'd say "Take Care", the closing track on this album. I think that is truly the most beautiful song ever written. I get teary eyed to that one even now after 200+ listens.
Best Song: "Take Care" and "Zebra" and "Better Times" and "Real Love"

Number 56 on my chart just ahead of "The 20/20 Experience" and just behind "Mule Variations".

And yeah, this is definitely a more enjoyable and powerful album to "Bloom" as far as I am concerned.
