JUST listened to this about 8 hours ago.
It's a really interesting record. I don't know almost ANYTHING about the history of electronic music, but I personally was blown away by how great and modern the electronics sound on here. I don't know why these guys aren't talked about with the same awe other early electronic based artist are. The music here is beautiful and dark. I really like it. _________________ -Ryan

This must be a generational thing because I always understood Tangerine Dream to be the quintessential ambient electronic band years before I ever got around to listening to them myself.
Great album by the way.

Yeah, Tangerine Dream are talked about in the circle of electronic discussions I've seen in the last few years on the few message boards I frequented for music discussion. But yeah, I like this record very much so as well.

Because of the people I heard mentioning them, I always assumed they were more of an art prog rock group, like The Alan Parsons Project or something. Had I understood their part in the development of electronic music I'd probably have checked them out earlier.

Superb record. If you like recent ambient records or Eno and Aphex at their ambientest and don't know this one, go for it.

You nailed it right there. My dad literally mentioned this band every single time I'd listen to electronic music of any kind. I always thought they were a Prog type band that my dad would be more into. As an example my mad never mentioned Eno in any context my entire childhood. _________________ -Ryan
