always liked it and Flood similarly (with TMBG and Apollo 18 or w/e that one was being close joint second for their discog)

Ok, I think this might deserve a few words from myself as it has recently become one of my favorites. While Flood is amazing, this reaches a whole new level. With Flood, TMBG managed to finally gain the significance in media that they deserve. Their child - esque/juvenile lyrics combined with a very weird and odd song structure made any nerd like kid fawn over anything they heard by this band and it makes perfect sense. TMBG is perhaps the perfect band when it comes to being nerdy without having to actually sound intelligent.
For this album, they simply mastered everything that made them amazing. Track by track they continued to prove that they could be a very comforting band while also sounding geeky. This album has managed to show a beauty not many other bands achieve. This type of sound and lyric correlation doesn't happen often and it almost never seems to come in this sort of feeling. Anyways, a band who most people probably know that does similar type stuff or at least has a similar feel to it is Ween. The Mollusk is certainly something everyone should listen to so certainly check it out.
I didn't want this to be the album chosen out of the ones I nominated mainly because of how many people have probably already listened to it so the interest isn't quite there, but it's still something that those who haven't experienced should. It's just great and juvenile fun in the works here, but they can certainly add something more to their repertoire than just dumb fun ("They'll need a crane" does a fine job of proving that).

I agree with this. A good album but Flood is better for me.

I totally missed this one. I've loved TMBG ever since I saw the video for Birdhouse in your Soul when I was young. Lincoln never appealed to me quite as much as Flood but it's still a great fun pop album _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
