So ABBA is reuniting for a comeback album after 40 years. Thoughts?
It'll be supported by unique concerts, in which a live band performs alongside digital versions of the four. Digital versions meaning they made new recordings of them performing the hits with motion capture, which will then be conveyed by digital characters representing their 1979 selves. _________________ Add me on RYM

Perhaps they are all running low on money & need to update the money machine. Licencing a bands image for various products can bring in more revenue than the music itself thanks to free downloads & Spotify. The cancellation of touring has really put a dent on revenue.

Hey What by Low
Low came out with one of my favorites of the year. Some amazing glitch pop and industrial music with some beautiful vocals.

Little Simz' powerhouse aside, it hasn't been the brightest week or two for me.
Don't know what happened, but Park Hye Jin dropped an absolute dud. Shame. Her EPs had promise. I mean... it's basically unlistenable. New Equiknoxx is... meh. Lorde's EP is maybe slightly worse than the Solar Power cuts. Usain Bolt dropped an album. It's awful, but he's just having fun (I think)— wasn't expecting anything with this one obviously. Dorotheo's new record was okay. Jana Rush's footwork record didn't hit the mark either. New Turnstile isn't usually my thing, but I have to admit it was a lot of fun (and absolutely flew by).
Best part was this find—

Alpha by Charlotte Day Wilson
Which is a lovely record out fo Toronto. Sensual, slow, slick, engrossing. Chill vibes stuffed with soul. Dug it. Syd's on it, and it's def comparable to her, maybe mixed with a bit of Rhye's early sound and BBNG's jazz tinge.

The Hunger by Marcus Whale
Feels like a decent take on the style Perfume Genius plays around with.
Hoping for a decent couple of finds in the weeks ahead. October's looking somewhat promising. Looking forward to the new Low too, should spin that later today.

This album is incredible! It's one of Low's heaviest and darkest albums but it also has surprisingly melodic and passionate moments that elevate the material. "White Horses" is amazing!!! _________________ https://amusicexperience.wordpress.com

Wrapped In Darkness by Serpent Of The Abyss
This is some of the most insane atmospheric black metal I've heard in a while. The production is perfect for the artist's playing style. The riffs on this thing are crazy. They feel very intricate and technical without sounding mechanical. Incredibly chaotic and not your typical hypnotic, repetitive atmospheric black metal record. _________________ ...and for dessert!

Disagree about Lorde. I think the slightly altered arrangements on the 5 songs elevate them above what they were on Solar Power. I also think they were the 5 best songs on an album that felt too same-y, so breaking out the highlights made for a more enjoyable experience on the EP than the full album. It's a novel idea to translate your songs into a language that you don't speak, bordering on appropriation, but I think the thought is in the right place.
I will say I was similarly disappointed this week by Kacey Musgraves' album. The title track "Star-Crossed" sounded interesting and orchestral (if overproduced and maybe too similar to Muse who I love); I was looking forward to more of that sound but just didn't get it.

Loving In Stereo by Jungle
This is from a month ago but I just listened this week, surprised me how much I enjoyed it. It's a little neo-disco jam for those unfamiliar. Fun but definitely not climbing my chart. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!

Time Out by Lonker See
Lonker See continues their impressive run of psychedelic albums with this new album, available on bandcamp. It's a mostly instrumental dark and ominous psychedelic rock album that pulls a lot from dark jazz and free jazz. They've been one of the most consistent psychedelic bands since their formation in my opinion. I've liked everything they've put out and this makes a strong case for their best album yet. Not sure if I prefer it to 'Hamza' quite yet but it's damn close _________________ Griselda, by Fashion Rebels
